Today at Cowes, The Artemis Even Keel Project UK had the great pleasure in welcoming Gay Edwards, the Isle of Wight High Sheriff and Simon Dear, the commissioner for positive activities, down to the site at UKSA . Gay was visiting in order to help the project promote the free of charge sailing facility we have established on the island which has been introduced at a very similar time to the Governments new 'Aim high for disabled children' initiative. This promotion was then boosted further by the arrival of Dee Caffari, the only female to sail solo, non-stop in both directions around the world. Dee, who has been working with the BBC News team, arrived in order to continue the coverage of all the various aspects of 'Cowes Week'. This coverage is exactly what the project has been striving for as the increased exposure will inform many more people of what we are doing which in turn should help us have a positive impact on many more lives. It also provides excellent brand exposure for our sponsors Artemis Investment Management who have funded the projects establishment this year. It is hoped that by generating such high profile media reports the project can offer its sponsors very real value for their kind support and in turn encourage more companies to support us.
