During the cold winter months where sailors dream of blue skies & a sea breeze the team at the even keel have been busy working towards a bright future for the project throughout 2011 & beyond. The Even Keel Project received notification of its full charity status earlier this month (registered number - 1139917) & with its committed team of trustees & advisers onboard and a busy calendar of events planned, 2011 will be another great year for Even Keel & all who get involved. Even Keel Charity Chairman Christopher Snell believes "the project can this year deliver its message in a strong & positive light & build on the success of 2010 by ensuring the maximum amount of access is maintained to as wide an audience as possible for all underprivileged groups, individuals & organisations by continuing to build on its integration with community projects, local authorities & corporate partners" With the project looking at increasing its mobility this season the opportunities available for people to get involved will be available throughout the UK as we take sailing 'to the people' with the project attending various locations for several weeks of sailing, with locations & booking information to be announced soon The Even Keel team are also looking to work more closely with several organisations this season showcasing not only how all can be involved in the world of sailing but also what is possible to achieve with determination, enthusiasm & the correct equipment. The calendar of events is nearing completion and will be available on the web site soon, there is still some availability for the project to attend a few more events & we always welcome your ideas on how & where we can sail.
