Even Keel Locations

The Even Keel Project is all about creating a global stage for sailors with disabilities to show that they are not alone and can compete at the highest level.

The Even Keel Project aims to build a network of locations around the world which offer disabled and disadvantaged sailors the opportunity to sail in its exciting new Artemis 20 keel boat and become part of a new world of discovery and challenge.   These locations will generally be based near or in famous sailing destinations which add to the whole experience available to our members and visitors.

In order for this to happen, the project requires sailing clubs and host sites to support the programme by becoming an Even Keel Project franchise.  Once suitable funding has been secured through corporate sponsorship or through the outright purchase of the boats, equipment and fees, clubs will then be provided with a fleet of 6 brand new Artemis 20 keel boats, complete with all the necessary equipment to be able to run an efficient Even  Keel Project site.

As more sites are established around the world it is planned that a World championship series will be arranged enabling disabled and disadvantaged sailors to compete against each other on a level playing field - An Even Keel.

It is envisaged that a global community of Even Keel sailors will develop through online social forums, the Even Keel website and via direct communication.  Sailors will all be able to share similar experiences irrespective of where they are in the world.

As part of the overall vision, It is also hoped that Even Keel members who wish to travel overseas will also be able to use other global sites on a complimentary pre bookable basis.  Not only will this encourage year round training opportunities for members but it will also enable members to gain an understanding of how other sites operate whilst developing international relationships.
