WELCOME TO THE EVEN KEEL PROJECT
Empowering individuals to conquer their dream
Sailing is one of very few sports in which having a physical disability does not have to be a disadvantage. Through its adaptive sailing programme, The Even Keel Project will give both able bodied and the disabled, the opportunity to participate together in a sailing activity that would otherwise be normally outside their reach.
The projects philosophy stems from the importance of accessibility, the idea of breaking down barriers and creating a fun and functional environment that will increase participation

WELCOME TO 2010 FROM THE TEAM AT Even keel
Posted On:  04/02/2010 10:11:06 AM

Here at the even keel project we have been busy planning an exciting season of sailing for 2010, with many great event for all to be involved in.

Our home at the UKSA will be offering try sailing sessions from the beginning of April to any groups or organisations who wish to experience what sailing has to offer.

The fully packed calendar of events is coming together, with try sailing in Cowes, racing regattas throughout the country and shows & exhibitions for all to experience the project.

Starting with our Even Keel Open Days at the UKSA on April 9th & 10th, this is the perfect chance for all to come along to find out more about the project, have a look around the fantastic facilities & meet the team. Our fleet of 6 Artemis 20's will be available for everyone to get out on the water & try out the project first hand.

If you can't wait until April to get involved why not come along to the RYA Dinghy show on March 6th & 7th where the team & boats will be on show at the RYA Sailability stand for all to see. Then onto Royal Windsor racecourse for the British Leisure show, 19th – 21st March, where once again we will be spreading the word that sailing can be for you...

The boats will be racing at various regattas throughout the year and we will be offering crewing positions at some of these for those who wish to feel the thrill & excitement of competition. Selection & training sessions will be held at various locations during the year and places offered to those who impress with their enthusiasm.

Cowes week is also shaping up to be big in 2010 for all involved in the Even Keel, with a range of activities and a few surprises along the way.

We have also listened to all the feedback from our sailors last year and invested considerable time & energy in fine tuning the boats for that perfect experience with new seating arrangements' & a selection of products to enable everyone the chance to get really involved.

We are always keen to hear from all with ideas for events & activities you would like and will always try to make them happen, so get in touch and let's see what we can do together.

The team are almost ready to go; we hope you are too......& look forward to a great year ahead for us all
